Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and valued wherever they are. For organisations that work with children and young people, creating a child-safe culture is not just a legal requirement but a professional and moral responsibility. This training helps your team understand what that means in practice and how to build a culture where safety is everyone’s priority. By the end of the session, participants will know exactly how to strengthen safety and trust across their organisation.

This interactive, evidence-based group training is designed for anyone working with children and young people. It suits staff, volunteers, contractors, and leaders who want to build their confidence and skills in child safety. The program focuses on understanding risks, recognising early signs of harm, and responding appropriately when concerns arise. Through reflection, discussion, and real-world examples, participants gain the tools and confidence to take meaningful action in their roles.

Grounded in the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and aligned with state and territory-based standards, the training bridges the gap between policy and everyday practice. It gives participants a clear understanding of their responsibilities and how to apply them in their daily work. Participants explore how to listen to children’s voices, identify unsafe practices, and promote inclusion and respect. The program provides a strong framework for creating safe spaces that empower young people to be heard.

Throughout the training, participants will develop a shared understanding of child safety in their organisation. They will learn how to recognise and respond to harm, and how leadership and culture directly influence safety outcomes. The course also helps teams identify barriers to inclusion and develop practical strategies to overcome them. By the end, participants have a clear sense of how to model child-safe practice in every interaction.

This training goes beyond compliance to inspire genuine engagement and accountability. It is grounded in Ultimate Youth Worker’s values of being principled, passionate, and professional, encouraging staff to think critically and act ethically. The session combines knowledge-building with practical application, ensuring participants leave both informed and empowered. It strengthens not only individual confidence but also the collective capacity of your organisation.

For organisations, this program offers far more than a box-tick for accreditation. It establishes a foundation for ethical, transparent, and sustainable practice that protects children and builds community trust. Investing in this training sends a clear message that your organisation values safety, accountability, and care. It also ensures your workforce is confident and capable when faced with real-world safeguarding challenges.

We tailor each delivery to suit your organisation’s size, structure, and workforce needs. Training can be run in-person or online, as a half-day or full-day workshop, or as part of a bespoke organisational development program that includes policy review, consultation, and leadership coaching. Every session is engaging, practical, and focused on lasting impact.
